1. Information We Collect
This App does not require account registration and does not directly collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
However, the following information may be automatically collected to provide app functionality, manage consent, and display advertisements:
| Data Type | Purpose | Collected By |
|---|---|---|
| Coarse Location (IP-based) | UV index data / Personalized ads / Regional consent determination | Apple WeatherKit / Google AdMob / Google UMP |
| Device Identifier (IDFA / Advertising ID) | Ad serving & analytics (only with consent / ATT permission) | Google AdMob |
| App Usage Data | Improve ad performance | Google AdMob |
| Advertising Interaction Data | Ad analytics | Google AdMob |
| Crash & Performance Diagnostics | App stability improvement | Google AdMob SDK |
| Consent Signals (TCF / GPP strings) | Store and transmit your privacy choices | Google UMP SDK |
2. How We Use Information
- Provide UV index information via Apple WeatherKit
- Display personalized or non-personalized advertisements via Google AdMob, based on your consent choices
- Manage your privacy consent (GDPR, U.S. state laws) via the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK
- Diagnose performance issues and improve service quality
3. Third-Party Services
This App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Apple WeatherKit — Weather data provider. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob — Advertising service. Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses data
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK — Consent management for GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws, implementing the IAB TCF v2.2 and IAB Global Privacy Platform (GPP) frameworks.
When you see advertisements through AdMob, Google and its advertising partners may act as independent data controllers or joint controllers for the purposes of ad personalization. A list of Google’s advertising partners (TCF vendors) is available at support.google.com/admob/answer/9012903.
4. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases under Article 6(1) GDPR:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for personalized advertising, the use of advertising identifiers, and any processing requiring consent under the ePrivacy Directive and TCF v2.2.
- Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for non-personalized advertising, security, fraud prevention, crash diagnostics, and basic analytics necessary to operate the App.
- Performance of a Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — to deliver the core UV index functionality you request.
You may withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 8). Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
5. International Data Transfers
The Developer is based in the Republic of Korea. Our third-party service providers (Apple, Google) operate globally and may process your data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data originating from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland is transferred to a country that has not been granted an adequacy decision, the transfer is safeguarded by appropriate measures such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework (where applicable), and supplementary technical and organizational measures implemented by our processors.
6. Data Retention
This App does not store any personal data on its own servers. Consent signals (TCF / GPP strings) are stored locally on your device by the UMP SDK and may be refreshed periodically. Data collected by third-party services (Apple, Google) is retained according to their respective data retention policies.

- Control location access: iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services.
7.2 Rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR (EEA, UK, Switzerland Residents)
You have the following rights with respect to your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — obtain confirmation and a copy of your personal data.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure / “right to be forgotten” (Art. 17).

To exercise these rights with respect to data processed by the Developer, contact us at contact@appetizer.day. For data processed by Google (AdMob/UMP) or Apple (WeatherKit), you may also exercise your rights directly through their respective privacy portals.
7.3 Rights under U.S. State Privacy Laws
If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or any other U.S. state that has enacted a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the following rights, subject to your state’s specific law:
- Right to Know / Access — categories and specific pieces of personal information collected.
- Right to Delete personal information we or our processors hold about you.
- Right to Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to Data Portability.
- Right to Opt Out of the “Sale” or “Sharing” of Personal Information, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted advertising).
- Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information (California).
- Right to Opt Out of Profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
- Right to Non-Discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
“Sale” / “Sharing” Disclosure: Under some U.S. state laws, the use of advertising identifiers and related data for personalized advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time via the in-app Privacy Options described in Section 8, or by enabling a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser where supported.
We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.
8. Managing Your Consent (UMP / Privacy Options)
When you first launch the App in a region where consent is required (EEA, UK, Switzerland, and applicable U.S. states), the Google UMP SDK will present a consent form that lets you accept, reject, or customize data processing for advertising purposes.
You can change your consent choices at any time by opening the App and tapping the “Privacy Options” (or equivalent) button within the App’s settings. This will re-display the UMP consent form. Your preferences are stored on-device as IAB TCF and/or GPP signals and are transmitted to Google and its advertising partners accordingly.
9. Children’s Privacy
This App is available to users of all ages (App Store age rating 4+), and the advertising content rating is set to General (G). This App does not directly collect personal information such as names or email addresses, regardless of the user’s age.
- United States (COPPA): We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes that a child under 13 has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.
- EEA / UK (GDPR): The App is not directed to children under 16. Where consent is the legal basis for processing, we do not knowingly process data of users under the applicable digital age of consent (typically 13–16 depending on the Member State).
- Parental Controls: If a parent or guardian does not wish their child to be tracked for advertising purposes, they can disable App Tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking, or decline personalized ads via the UMP consent form.
10. Data Security
We rely on the security controls of Apple and Google for data they process, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Because we do not operate our own servers and do not collect directly-identifying personal data, our attack surface is limited to on-device processing. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Effective Date” and “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also provide notice through the App. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
